Matt Reeves has seemingly put to rest the rumor that ran rampant earlier in the year that claimed that actor, Ben Affleck, was quitting the Batman role altogether. While walking the red carpet at the premiere of War of the Planet of the Apes, director Matt Reeves, had an opportunity to speak with a reporter from Getty. In his own words, he confirms that Ben Affleck will remain as Batman.

Beginning with an episode of Collider Movie Talk, questions regarding the validity of the rumor intensified after Warner Bros. released an official press release announcing the appointment of Matt Reeves as The Batman’s director without mentioning Affleck’s involvement. However, DCEU producer, Charles Roven, attempted to quell fans’ concerns a few weeks thereafter. Roven stated, “… I have no feeling whatsoever except positive that Matt loves Ben and the work that he has done as Batman, and Ben thinks that Matt is a really terrific filmmaker. I have every expectation that they are going to make a movie together.”

Ben Affleck will next done the cowl in this year’s Justice League.

Justice League is set for release on November 17, 2017.
